Refusing to add your spouse as a friend on Facebook is becoming a common reason for people wanting a divorce in 2011 according to the online divorce experts Divorce-Online.

Divorce-Online has been monitoring the use of social networks in divorce since 2009 when it published findings that showed as many as 1 in 5 divorce petitions in the UK were using the word Facebook in divorce particulars.

More recent research is showing an increasing number of petitioners; especially wives are saying that one of the reasons for divorcing their errant husbands is because they are refusing to add them as friends and letting them share their on line lives, photos and wall posts.

Mark Keenan, a spokesman for Divorce-Online said “If people are suspicious of their spouses behaviour, then not letting them into their on line life is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back”
