Why you should not pay £1500 + vat for your divorce

Rip off lawyers

Is it a rip off?

Whilst searching for divorce related news and comment this morning, I came accross a blog by a London lawyer telling their readers why you should not use an online divorce service to obtain an uncontested divorce.

The blog post was intended to frighten readers into paying what is a huge amount of money for what is essentially form completion by saying that we would not include the correct information on the divorce petition and that clients might not be able to claim financial relief.

I can’t speak for other web services but all our documents are created to automatically include financial relief paragraphs and advice on why they are included and all our documents are checked by experienced and qualified paralegal case managers before they reach the client and that is for the sum of £65.00 including vat and not £1500 + the vat.

How can these people continue to charge such a huge amount of money for form filling especially when legal advice on any related matters will be charged at additional rates?
