Claiming for benefits can sometimes seem a daunting task and can make people feel that they have failed because they have to resort to them.

In recent years governments of all persuasions have attempted to make the benefits system fairer and designed to get people back to work. The new Family Credit system is supposed to make it easier for people with children to work and pay for child care.
