We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service in dealing with your case.
We will only contact you about your case and any related services that we provide from Online Legal Services or related companies such as wills and probate, conveyancing, pensions and financial advice and other legal services. You are under no obligation to proceed with any of these suggested services and we will be transparent with you about any referral fee we receive.
We will not pass your email address to unrelated third parties unless you have registered with us, and elected to be kept informed of offers from other companies.
Specifically, if you purchase documents from us, the information you supply to us will only be used to fulfill your order. We will not pass your details to anyone else, and we will not send you correspondence other than that related to the production of your documents or the performance or enhancement of our service to you.
In the case of our DIY services your divorce details will be removed from our live database within 12 months of your case concluding or if we have not heard from you for 6 months or more.
In the case of managed services, your divorce details will be deleted from our database once your case has concluded and final documents have been sent to you this will happen within 12 months of your case concluding.
We do not under any circumstances keep hard copies of any documents or correspondence. All documents on file will be either deleted or shredded and disposed of securely by a certificated secure waste disposal process. if you need copies of any documents you will have to obtain them from the court in which your divorce was issued.
You will be responsible for keeping any e-mails or documents you send to us for processing in case you should need them in the future.
The type of information we will collect about you includes:
- your name
- phone number
- email address
- credit/debit card details (if you are purchasing documents by telephone).
- Details required for the processing of your legal case.
In the case of credit card transactions online these are securely handled by HSBC secure e-payments and we do not ever keep or hold any information about your account.
In the case of credit card transactions over the phone these are never written down or stored anywhere and will only be used to make payment through our online payment terminal which is handled by HSBC secure e-payments.
In the case of documents we will be collecting personal information about you, your spouse and any children. Any paper documents are held securely in our physical offices and any digital documents are held on our secure servers.
We will never collect additional sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.
The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.
If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.
