Other Family Law ProductsMatrimonial Home Rights ApplicationIf you live, or have lived in a property with your spouse, and they own the property but you do not, then you have what are called Matrimonial Home Rights, which protect you from the owner selling or transferring the property to someone else before a settlement or court order has been reached. In order to ensure those rights are protected, an application needs to be made to the Land Registry. Divorce-Online can now make that application for you. All you need to do is complete a simple questionnaire and we will do the rest for you, including payment of any fees to the Land Registry. The Land Registry will then put a caution on the register so that your spouse cannot sell the property or raise finance on it without your permission until either the court makes an order or you reach agreement. Please note: The registered owner of the property will receive notification that a caution has been placed on the property.
