Divorce & COVID-19 FAQs, Answered.
Are you working normally?
Yes, we are working normally. As a primarily online business our teams are working from home, but we have systems and procedures in place to ensure work is carried out in the same way as normal.
Our support team are still on-hand to help answer any questions you have about your case.
Are the divorce courts working normally?
Yes, “access to justice” which includes family law procedures has been designated as an essential service and all applications are being dealt with as normal.
Will there be delays to my case?
Whilst we are not experiencing any significant delays with the divorce courts at present, there will inevitably be forthcoming delays due to court staff shortages for the next few weeks/months while we battle through this crisis, but rest assured we will do everything we can to deal with your paperwork quickly and efficiently.
We are in contact with the Courts staff who are providing us with regular updates on caseloads, which you wouldn’t receive if you were to handle your own divorce.
Using Divorce-Online is still the quickest and easiest way to obtain a decree absolute as we are chasing for updates and managing your case as efficiently as possible.
Why have the court have not called me to take my court fees?
Usually, the courts will call you the day after your divorce papers have been submitted. However, due to the Courts being short-staffed it will take longer for the court to call you to take your payment.
