Amicable divorces are on the increase in the UK

The number of amicable divorces is on the increase as couples seek to reduce legal fees during the economic downturn, it emerged yesterday. Typical legal bills for divorce are now around £1,500, forcing warring couples to sit down and calmly work out how to divide their assets equally. Mark Keenan, founder and managing director of Divorce-Online, which spotted the trend, said divorces are becoming less acrimonious.
