There are local organisations that can and will help and most NHS trusts and local Primary Care Trusts will have a Family therapy Unit attached to assist families with helping their children with the problems they may be experiencing through what is undoubtedly one of the most traumatic experiences in their lives as well as yours.

When considering divorce or separation you might find it useful to either talk to professionals or just to other parents who have been through the difficult task of preparing their children.

The Children of Divorce website is designed to help parents and children who may be dealing with a divorce and is produced by the BBC.

As a child whose parents are in the process of divorcing, it can be a painful and emotional time. As a starting point follow the link "How to cope when your parents split up".
